The 62nd Meeting of the Asia Pacific Advanced Network (APAN62) was held from 10 to 14 August 2026 in Auckland, New Zealand. During the meeting, the BGPWatch project organized two sessions on 11 August 2026: a technical training session and a knowledge- and experience-sharing session.
The technical training session delivered hands-on instruction on the BGPWatch platform and was led by project partner Shamim Ahmed from BdREN. The session introduced practical workflows for BGP routing analysis and incident response, enabling network engineers and operators to better understand the application of BGPWatch in real-world network operations.
The knowledge- and experience-sharing session presented recent project progress, achievements, and technical updates of BGPWatch. Yuying Zhu from Tsinghua University introduced the latest developments of the project, including recent achievements, community activities, and future directions. Linmei Zu from the BGPWatch engineering team shared practical case studies of BGPWatch based on an AI assistant, highlighting the application of AI-assisted approaches in BGP routing analysis and platform enhancement. Simon Green from SingAREN and Bayani Lara from DOST-ASTI further shared their experiences using BGPWatch from the user perspective. The session facilitated valuable discussions on platform improvements, operational needs, and future collaboration opportunities.
To further strengthen collaboration among project partners, Tsinghua University/CERNET and HARNET/JUCC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) during APAN62. The MOU aims to enhance cooperation in network research, BGP routing monitoring and analysis, technical exchange, and related areas. HARNET/JUCC has been an active partner of the BGPWatch project and has provided infrastructure support for the platform.
The activities at APAN62 further demonstrated the collaborative nature of BGPWatch, where partner feedback and operational experiences continue to drive the evolution of the platform. The project will continue working with the APAN community and global partners to advance routing security and collaborative cyberspace governance.
